Summary
- AfNOG says AIS 2026 virtual participation includes live streams, interactive discussions and selected recordings.
- The reviewed page does not state coverage, interaction, accessibility-support, incident-ownership or remedy standards.
The current AfNOG page describes AIS 2026 as inclusive and accessible. It says the hybrid format ensures distance is not a barrier and that venue infrastructure enables remote and in-person participants to engage effectively.

That is a meaningful access commitment, but it is not yet an operational standard on the reviewed page. The page does not specify which sessions are streamed, how remote questions enter discussions, what accessibility support is available, who owns a platform incident, how status is communicated or what happens when promised participation is materially interrupted.
This absence does not prove poor delivery, unequal treatment or the absence of an internal runbook. Nor does hybrid participation require identical experiences. The narrower governance issue is whether a public access promise can be tested and remedied through a visible rule.
A compact standard should publish session coverage, interaction channels, accessibility contact, incident owner, status-notice channel and proportionate remedies such as prompt recording access or an alternative question route.
