• Coming June 10th to 14th, WWDC is set to feature updates to visionOS in addition to the regular deluge of stuff for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS.
  • Some analyst reports suggest WWDC 2024 could introduce us to Apple’s AI App Store.

Apple has announced, as expected, that its WWDC 2024 event will be a live event on 10 June at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. Artificial intelligence will be a major focus of the event.

What we expect to know

WWDC is typically the place where Apple talks up its upcoming software releases, so this year we expect to hear about iOS 18 as well as iPadOS 17 and the follow-up to last year’s macOS Sonoma.

Apart from that, we’ll also hear about “watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS advancements” according to Apple’s announcement.

The use of AI

Some analyst reports suggest WWDC 2024 could introduce us to Apple’s AI App Store. According to CNBN, Melius Research’s Ben Reitzes predicts “we should start to see Apple lay the groundwork for this new App Store, for how it’s going to work with AI, how you can buy AI apps through the App Store” at WWDC 2024 as it moves to integrate the growing morass of mobile apps with “AI” features.

Some updates on Vision Pro

As mentioned by a report from MacRumors, Apple has been internally testing a new Apple Pencil that supports Vision Pro, which would allow it to work with XR drawing apps, such as Freeform and Pixelmator.

The most likely prediction is, that there are rumours that we will see visionOS 2.0 at WWDC, which could bring many updates.

We could see announcements surrounding its Personas avatars, improved Mac integration, Bluetooth mouse support, and updates to its hand and eye-tracking.
