The action Google took
Google halted the employees’ access to our systems and placed them under investigation. Law enforcement removed those who would not leave our offices and placed them under arrest.
Google fired the twenty-eight employees who were found to be involved today after conducting an investigation. The company will keep looking into the matter and take further action as necessary.
Google’s head of global security, Chris Rackow, issued a warning, saying that if additional action was required, the company would take it: “The overwhelming majority of our employees do the right thing. If you’re one of the few who are tempted to think we’re going to overlook conduct that violates our policies, think again. The company takes this extremely seriously, and we will continue to apply our longstanding policies to take action against disruptive behaviour — up to and including termination.”

More information about the memo sent to employees
According to the memo, employees was announced that a few workers carried the incident into our Sunnyvale and New York buildings. These workers are accused of vandalising the property, occupying office spaces, and physically interfering with other Googlers’ work. Their actions were deplorable, highly disruptive, and intimidating to other employees, the memo said.
The memo added that such conduct has no place in Google’s workplace and will not be accepted. It blatantly contravenes a number of rules that all workers are expected to follow, such as the standards of conduct, policy on harassment, discrimination, and retaliation, as well as the code of conduct.
