Strengthening Congo’s digital backbone
Silicone Connect, a leading infrastructure operator in Congo, has made significant strides in modernising the country’s digital infrastructure. Established in 2020 through a public-private partnership (PPP) with the Congolese government, the company was entrusted with operating an extensive fibre optic network. Since then, Silicone Connect has been pivotal in enhancing the digital capabilities of Congo by implementing advanced Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology, which has increased the network’s capacity thirtyfold. The recent completion of two express lines, each offering 200 Gbps, between Pointe-Noire and Brazzaville, highlights the company’s commitment to delivering high-speed, low-latency connectivity across the nation.
