Analysis

Spanning over 10,000km, the cable system will establish a new route northeast of Australia via the Torres Strait, providing a more efficient and secure connection between major cities in the region. And with a design capacity exceeding 240 Tbps, Hawaiki Nui 1 will offer bandwidth for data transmission, catering to the growing demands of businesses and communities across Australasia and South-East Asia. Optional branches to the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and Timor Leste will further extend the reach of the cable system, while direct links between Sydney, Darwin and Singapore, with branches to Jakarta and Batam, will foster seamless connectivity and collaboration.
