Several public sources
- Google introduced Gemini for Workspace, offering AI-assisted features with pricing options for Google Workspace users.
- This reshapes Google’s AI business products, providing clarity and convenience compared to previous offerings like Duet AI.
- Gemini Business offers assistive functions with pricing tiers, while Gemini Enterprise provides advanced AI meeting features for a higher fee.
Google today officially announced the launch of Gemini for Workspace, offering a range of AI-assisted features for Google Workspace users. The highlight of this release is its pricing information, with Google updating the pricing page for Workspace to include an option called “Gemini extension” in all packages.
“Duet AI for Google Workspace” has been discontinued
Previously introduced “Duet AI for Google Workspace” has been discontinued, despite its launch in August last year, it never truly opened to the public. Google detailed this update through a blog post, revealing that the most basic “Starter” package of Workspace costs $6 per user per month, with an additional $20 monthly fee required for the “Gemini extension” (all prices require an annual contract).
While this may seem significant for regular Workspace subscriptions, considering the cost of AI processing, it’s understandable. Google claims this business package can provide users with functions like “assistive writing in Docs and Gmail, enhanced smart fill in Sheets, and image generation in Slides.” Moreover, it includes the “1.0 Ultra” version of the Gemini chatbot.

This is a significant reshaping of Google’s AI business products
It’s important to note that the $20 package has usage limits for Gemini AI features, capped at 1000 times per month. The launch of Gemini for Workspace signifies a significant reshaping of Google’s AI business products, clarifying Google’s previously confusing and constantly changing AI brand image. While the previously announced Duet AI was not formally released to the public, Gemini Business provides a convenient purchasing process, allowing any Workspace business customer to subscribe to the service easily.
In addition to the consumer-oriented packages, Google also offers the “Gemini Enterprise” version, which has no usage limits but can only be obtained through “contact us” and cannot be purchased directly online. The Enterprise version costs $30 per user per month, providing additional AI meeting features, such as Gemini’s ability to translate subtitles for over 100 language pairs and soon be able to record meeting notes automatically.
