The TJX Companies, Inc. is the organization examined here. TJX publicly describes a global off-price retail business spanning thousands of stores, multiple retail chains, distribution and fulfillment operations, e-commerce sites, a large workforce, and a constantly changing merchandise assortment. That operating model creates a technology problem defined less by a single application than by the daily reconciliation of products, prices, locations, suppliers, shipments, identities, payments, privacy obligations, and exceptions. This article evaluates that problem from public evidence without claiming access to TJX's private architecture.
