In the first half of 2020, seven nationwide Swisscom incidents disrupted combinations of fixed telephony, mobile service, Internet access and television. Some incidents also interfered with the route between people seeking emergency help and the centres meant to receive their calls. Switzerland's communications regulator concluded that the incidents had different and unrelated causes. That finding makes the central lesson more demanding, not less: continuity has to survive more than one familiar failure story.
