Nscale has agreed to acquire Anyscale, joining AI software to power, data centres and accelerators. The transaction is signed, not completed.

Nscale’s agreement to acquire Anyscale is an attempt to move up the AI infrastructure stack. The buyer already assembles power, data centres, accelerators and cloud services; the target supplies the software through which developers distribute data processing, training, inference and reinforcement-learning jobs. Owning both can shorten the distance between a workload and the hardware beneath it, while giving Nscale a claim on more of the customer relationship than raw GPU rental provides. It also creates a credibility test. Anyscale says its platform will remain portable across the major clouds after closing, even as its prospective owner has every reason to direct workloads towards its own capacity. The agreement is signed, not completed, and its price is undisclosed.
