On 11 August 2026, Mistral announced European Compute Units and an anchor group of enterprises whose multi-year commitments are supposed to underwrite 200 MW of Mistral-operated infrastructure in Europe by the end of 2027 and up to 1 GW by 2030. The mechanism is now public. What the public record does not show is which organisations have actually purchased anything, at what size, on what terms — and that gap is the whole story for anyone underwriting the demand side of European AI compute.
