• GoDaddy's 2025 authoritative DNS interruption made Anycast command isolation an accountability test

  For eight minutes on December 12, 2025, GoDaddy said an inadvertently executed command interrupted Anycast access to all of its authoritative DNS services. Cached answers meant that some users continued reaching sites while fresh lookups failed. The short duration should not obscure the control question: when one command can alter global reachability, an operator needs evidence that the command's identity, scope, approval, execution, rollback and observed routing effect were bounded before the public service depended on them.
