Frontier Communications Corporation

Frontier Communications is no longer an independent company. Verizon paid $38.50 a share in cash and closed on 20 January 2026, taking control of an incumbent whose fibre and copper plant now feeds Verizon's own capital plan. The obligations that actually bind that transfer are narrower than the deal's public promises: the federal regulator imposed no service-quality conditions, while the enforceable commitments sit in state decisions, above all California's.
