FiberCop’s first converted telecom exchange in Rome is now reported live as an edge data centre. The milestone gives physical form to a programme that aims to reuse 100 copper exchanges. It does not make the other 99 sites operational, nor turn the operator’s 10,500-exchange estate into a 10,500-node commitment. The useful story is the conversion test now beginning: can fibre-adjacent real estate become repeatable, powered, cooled and commercially used compute?

A Milan court rejected TIM's urgent attempt to make FiberCop communicate Master Service Agreement economic conditions to AGCOM. That preserves FiberCop's immediate position and removes the requested emergency pressure. It does not approve a wholesale tariff, decide every contractual claim or close the regulator's parallel review.

TIM's legal challenge against FiberCop's pricing is the first public test of how Italy's fibre spinout model works once private equity takes control. The €22bn network sale separated wholesale from retail, but the dispute over whether new rates need regulatory review will shape how future carrier divestments are structured — and whether wholesale pricing freedom survives political pressure.

FiberCop's bond pricing is a financing event around Italy's fixed-access fibre control surface, not a corporate identity story called 'bond offer'. FiberCop launched EUR1.4bn of senior secured notes on 16 June 2025 and, two days later, priced EUR2.8bn after strong investor demand. The signal is that capital markets were willing to fund the Italian wholesale fibre operator's rollout and refinancing needs at scale; the risk is that bond-market confidence still has to translate into rollout execution, debt discipline and durable wholesale demand.
