Alipay is developing a Web3-powered voucher program together with Avalanche, planning to roll it out in Southeast Asian milk tea stores
Online payment platform Alipay has partnered with smart contract blockchain platform Avalanche to create a voucher programme powered by Web3 technology.
On 20 March, Avalanche announced that Alipay’s food ordering solution, Alipay+ D-store, and its partner e-wallets are using Avalanche for a Web3-enabled voucher programme.
The programme, which has been rolled out in Southeast Asian milk tea shops, allows consumers to earn vouchers by playing a mini-game. Upon completion of the game, consumers can collect the vouchers in their e-wallets.
Avalanche explains that these vouchers allow users to get up to 50 per cent off at more than 500 milk tea shops. The vouchers are powered by the Avalanche subnet, built and managed by its blockchain service AvaCloud. According to Avalanche, the vouchers are designed to allow brands such as Alipay to experience solutions powered by Web3 technology.
