The London Internet Exchange (LINX) has expanded its partnership with Digital Realty to launch a new Internet Exchange Point (IXP) in Accra, Ghana. The facility, named LINX Accra, will provide a crucial interconnection fabric, enabling high-speed, low-latency connections for network operators and service providers. This marks LINX’s third African IXP, following its previous launches in Nairobi and Mombasa. Digital Realty’s upcoming ACR2 data centre, nearing completion, will serve as the primary access point for LINX Accra. Located strategically near six submarine cable landing stations, the new data centre is positioned to leverage Ghana’s strong international connectivity and play a vital role in improving the region’s digital infrastructure.
