AMD announces the launch of AI chips for computers

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) reveals a new range of chips for artificial intelligence-enabled business laptops and desktops, as the chip manufacturer seeks to increase its portion of the lucrative “AI PC” (artificial intelligence personal computers)  market.

AI-enabled PCs may run large-language models and AI-powered apps directly on the device, rather than in the cloud. These processors are projected to be available on HP and Lenovo platforms beginning in the second quarter of 2024, according to an AMD news statement.

Ronak Shah, global commercial product marketing manager at AMD, expresses that all processors they announce push the boundaries of performance and efficiency from AMD as they have never done before.
