    • Businesses in Brazil gain improved connectivity to major global hubs

What happened: Strategic partnership boosts global connectivity

Megaport, a global Network as a Service (NaaS) provider, has announced a partnership with Angola Cables and its subsidiary, Telcables Brasil, to enhance global digital connectivity. The collaboration allows businesses to access over 930 data centres and 300 cloud connection points worldwide via Megaport’s virtual network.

By integrating Angola Cables’ extensive infrastructure, which spans Brazil, the US, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, the agreement strengthens Brazil’s position as a digital hub. Customers can now connect seamlessly to key global markets, including New York, Miami, and London, ensuring reliable and efficient data transfer.

Angola Cables board member Rui Faria highlighted the partnership’s significance, stating that their submarine cable network would create a “super corridor” for rapid global data exchange. Additionally, Telcables Brasil will expand its offerings in Brazil, including GDI, Remote Peering, and Cloud-to-Cloud services.

Matt Simpson, EVP at Megaport, emphasised the role of the company’s software-defined networking (SDN) in simplifying connectivity for enterprises needing access to cloud and AI infrastructure. Businesses will benefit from low-latency connections and enhanced network performance.

The collaboration also supports the growth of Brazil’s digital economy, allowing businesses to scale operations efficiently. With increasing demand for low-latency and high-performance connectivity, Megaport and Angola Cables are positioned to drive innovation in global data transit.
