Reebok launches AI-powered fashion experience on Instagram

Reebok has unveiled an innovative AI-powered fashion experience on Instagram, allowing users to customize digital sneakers through a unique and interactive process. The new feature, named Reebok Impact, enables users to transform their photos into bespoke sneaker designs.

How it works

To create a custom sneaker, users simply direct message Reebok Impact on Instagram. The AI then generates a digital sneaker, featuring the user’s image emblazoned on the side. Users can customize the colour and style of their image on one of three classic Reebok designs: the iconic Reebok Pump, Classic Leather, or Club C.

The AI experience is free for up to four sneaker creations. Users can purchase the digital files, which are compatible with 3D creation platforms like Unreal Editor. This allows users to have their avatars wear the AI-generated sneakers in metaverse environments and video games, including Open, the upcoming battle royale title based on the world of Ready Player One. Additionally, the original photo is stored in the sole of the sneaker to symbolize “the impact of the memory on the soul.”

Collaboration with Futureverse

Reebok Impact was developed in collaboration with metaverse company Futureverse. The partnership, established last December, aims to create AI-powered gaming and metaverse experiences. Reebok CEO Todd Krinsky expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “We are thrilled to announce the launch of Reebok Impact, which marks an important milestone in our commitment to innovation and technology. We are excited to partner with Futureverse to explore new and engaging ways to bring our brand’s ethos to a wider audience.”

Reebok and Futureverse also plan to develop more AI-powered, blockchain-based gaming and metaverse experiences. The partnership aims to bridge the virtual and physical worlds, providing users with unique and immersive experiences.
