Qualcomm unveiled its RB3 Gen 2 IoT platforms designed for IoT and embedded applications at this week’s Embedded World conference in Nuremberg, Germany. These platforms are compatible with artificial intelligence, computer vision, and camera sensors for use in robots, drones, industrial handheld devices, and connected cameras.

Jeff Torrence, senior vice president at Qualcomm, said, “The RB3 Gen 2 platform is designed to bring advanced on-device AI capabilities to a wide range of mid-tier IoT applications.”
He added, “We will soon expand our IoT portfolio to address high-performance, industrial-grade solutions that will enable the most demanding industrial applications to enter a new era of intelligence, functional safety, and powerful high-performance computing and I/O capabilities.”

Qualcomm’s new technology showcase
Qualcomm is showcasing its Qualcomm QCC730 Wi-Fi system, designed for IoT connectivity, at an event, offering up to 88% lower power than previous generations and potentially revolutionizing battery-powered products in industrial, commercial, and consumer applications.
Rahul Patel, group general manager, Qualcomm, said, “The Qualcomm QCC730 enables Wi-Fi for battery-powered IoT platforms, complementing high-performance, low-latency wireless connectivity solutions; and with this new offering, Qualcomm is a leader in battery-powered consumer electronics, gaming, smart home, and healthcare.”
Attendees at Embedded World may also view Qualcomm’s software solutions portfolio, which spans industries including robotics, manufacturing, asset and fleet management, and automotive solutions, as shown in the hardware products of other exhibitors.
