What happened: LACNIC opens call for forum presentations

The LACNIC Technical Forum has opened its call for presentations, inviting experts to share their insights on regional internet development. Now in its eighth edition, the forum will take place in San Pablo, Brazil, from 5 to 9 May 2025, coinciding with LACNIC 43. This event has established itself as a key platform for over 600 professionals engaged in internet development, facilitating discussions on various topics, including IPv6 implementation, cybersecurity, and network operations.

Presenters can choose between a 20-minute full-length presentation or a 10-minute short presentation. Why this is important

The call for presentations at the LACNIC Technical Forum highlights a pivotal moment in the ongoing evolution of internet infrastructure in Latin America. As digital transformation accelerates across the region, addressing topics such as IPv6 transition and cybersecurity becomes increasingly critical.

The forum not only fosters knowledge exchange among professionals but also serves as a catalyst for collaboration, driving innovation in internet technologies. With the growing reliance on the internet for various sectors, including finance, healthcare, and education, the implications of advancements made in this forum are far-reaching.

Moreover, the emphasis on regional internet development resonates with global trends. As other regions grapple with similar challenges, the insights gained at the LACNIC Forum may influence best practices worldwide. The event’s focus on practical solutions and real-world applications positions it as a significant contributor to shaping future internet policies and technologies.

By participating in discussions on interconnection and routing, attendees can help steer the direction of internet governance, ensuring a more secure and efficient digital landscape for all. The forum embodies the collaborative spirit required to tackle the complex issues facing the internet today, making it a must-attend event for tech enthusiasts and industry leaders alike.
