    • Collaboration enhances global IoT coverage and management capabilities

What happened: Global IoT coverage expands with new partnerships

Verizon Business has announced strategic partnerships with Singapore-based telecom giant Singtel and satellite connectivity provider Skylo. The move aims to enhance its global IoT offerings. These collaborations will enable Verizon’s IoT customers to access wireless services in over 200 regions worldwide. The services will integrate satellite, roaming, and native eSIM capabilities, all managed through the Verizon ThingSpace IoT management portal.

The partnership with Singtel introduces multi-domestic network services to Verizon’s Global IoT Orchestration platform. This significantly strengthens Verizon’s IoT coverage in the Asia Pacific region. Singtel’s network will allow seamless management of enterprise IoT applications and critical operational data in real-time across the region. Meanwhile, Skylo’s satellite connectivity will address areas in the United States where cellular coverage is limited. This ensures continuous IoT connectivity in remote or underserved regions.

Verizon Business Vice President of Strategic Connectivity, Shamik Basu, highlighted the importance of these partnerships. He said the company’s IoT services are designed to meet global business needs. Global connectivity is now available through industry-leading partners. Singtel’s Vice President of Enterprise Products, Lee Kwang Yong, expressed excitement about supporting Verizon’s customers. He also noted the expansion of coverage for North American markets. Skylo’s Chief Product Officer and co-founder, Tarun Gupta, emphasized the importance of reliable connectivity. He noted that Skylo’s technology ensures devices remain connected even in challenging environments.

    Why it’s important

The collaboration between Verizon, Singtel, and Skylo marks a significant step forward in the global IoT landscape. By integrating Singtel’s multi-domestic network and Skylo’s satellite connectivity, Verizon is able to offer comprehensive IoT solutions across diverse markets. This partnership not only enhances coverage in underserved areas but also simplifies the management of IoT devices through the centralized Verizon ThingSpace platform.

The move positions Verizon as a leader in providing seamless, global IoT connectivity, supporting digital transformation efforts worldwide. Furthermore, it underscores the growing importance of partnerships in the IoT sector, as companies seek to leverage complementary technologies to meet the evolving needs of businesses operating in an increasingly connected world.
