    • Qvantel wins multi-country deal with Veon Group covering over 130 million customers.
    • Contract includes BSS and end-to-end managed services for Veon’s digital operators in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Ukraine.

What happened: Qvantel expands partnership with Veon group

Finnish BSS provider Qvantel has secured a multi-country contract with Veon Group, covering digital operators with over 130 million customers. The deal includes Jazz in Pakistan, Banglalink in Bangladesh, and Kyivstar in Ukraine. Qvantel will deliver BSS and end-to-end managed services, providing operations and support teams to work closely with Veon. This partnership expansion is backed by robust service level agreements (SLAs).

Qvantel’s BSS solutions enable operators to quickly develop, launch, and monetise digital services, crucial for their digital strategy. Inanc Cakiroglu, Veon’s Chief Information Officer, highlighted the agility and innovation Qvantel’s BSS brings to their largest operators. Matti Roto, Qvantel’s CEO, praised Veon’s digital transformation leadership and the partnership’s growth potential.

In related news, Qvantel launched new “beyond connectivity capabilities” for its Flex BSS. These include partner management, B2B sales force automation (SFA), and enhanced configure, price, quote (CPQ) functionalities. Qvantel referenced GSMA research, which shows communication service providers can capture up to 35% of the $1.16 trillion enterprise technology services market—a $406 billion opportunity.

    Why it’s important:

The partnership between Qvantel and Veon Group underscores the growing importance of digital transformation in the telecommunications industry. By leveraging Qvantel’s advanced BSS solutions, Veon’s digital operators can accelerate their transition from traditional connectivity providers to comprehensive digital service providers. This not only enhances their ability to innovate and grow but also positions them to capitalise on the significant enterprise market opportunity highlighted by GSMA research.

The new managed services agreement further strengthens this partnership, ensuring that Veon can deliver high-quality digital experiences to its customers while maintaining cost efficiency. This collaboration serves as a blueprint for other operators looking to navigate the evolving digital landscape.
