    Zayo and Infinera achieve 1 Tb/s transmission milestone

    What happened: Record-breaking transmission on North American Network

    Zayo and Infinera have achieved a major milestone by completing a live network trial that delivered 1 Tb/s transmission over a 1,391 km route between Sacramento, California, and Salt Lake City. Powered by Infinera’s ICE7 optical engine, the trial demonstrated the ability to provide 32 terabits of C-Band capacity, with potential to double bandwidth to 64 terabits using L-Band.

    This success highlights Zayo’s capacity to integrate advanced technologies like ICE7 into its industry-leading network, ensuring high capacity, speed, and efficiency. The trial underscores Zayo’s commitment to meeting the growing demands of AI, cybersecurity, and enterprise needs with cost-effective solutions.
