Vietnam begins construction of first 100MW+ data centre

What happened: Viettel starts building Vietnam’s largest data centre in Ho Chi Minh City

Viettel Group officially commenced construction on Vietnam’s largest data centre, with a projected capacity of 140MW. Located in the Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park in Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City, the facility will span nearly four hectares and house approximately 10,000 racks.

The centre will be built to Uptime Tier III international standards, offering an average rack power density of 10kW, with some racks supporting up to 60kW. This configuration is specifically designed to meet the demands of modern AI, big data, and high-performance computing workloads.
