O₂ Telefónica has significantly enhanced its 5G network across Germany, focusing on rural and underserved areas. Between January and March 2025, the company implemented approximately 1,600 expansion measures and activated around 100 new sites, extending 5G coverage to over 97% of the population. Why it’s important

Expanding 5G infrastructure in rural areas bridges the digital divide, offering high-speed internet access to communities previously lacking robust connectivity. This initiative supports economic growth, enables advanced technological applications, and ensures that residents in less populated regions benefit from modern digital services.
