What is RIPE NCC General meeting?

Based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with a branch office in Dubai, UAE, the Réseaux IP Européens Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC) serves as the regional internet registry for Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Central Asia.

The RIPE NCC General Meeting convenes to discuss various topics crucial to the organisation’s operations and governance.

These include reports from the RIPE NCC and the executive board, presentations on the draft activity plan and budget, financial updates, amendments to the articles of association, and voting on resolutions.

Electing new leadership

With briefings from the RIPE NCC executive board and management, the meeting gives members a chance to talk on the organisation’s operations and activities.

The meeting will be held next to the Metropolo Hotel by Golden Tulip in Kraków. In addition, members have the option to engage virtually by watching the general assembly live, taking part in chat sessions, and casting electronic ballots for resolutions and executive board positions.

Members will cast their votes to elect two individuals to the RIPE NCC executive board, which are currently occupied by Piotr Strzyzewski and Job Snijders, each serving a three-year term. To nominate a candidate for the executive board, the support of at least five RIPE NCC members is necessary. The deadline for nominations and support submissions is Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

Registration for the general meeting closes on May 22, 2024.
