Beyond its home turf, K-NET‘s impact resonates throughout West Africa. In times of crisis, such as the Ebola outbreak in Liberia, K-NET stepped up to provide essential internet connectivity, demonstrating the company’s commitment to serving communities in challenging circumstances. With ongoing projects in Sierra Leone and Liberia, K-NET continues to strengthen its regional presence, cementing its position as a beacon of technological advancement and social responsibility.

    Broadcasting giants behind the scenes

While many Ghanaians associate K-NET with the establishment and management of the national DTT platform, the company’s scope extends far beyond. With a state-of-the-art teleport facility at McCarthy Hills, K-NET offers unparalleled satellite communication services. This includes managing the backbone for MultiTV and HD+, ensuring that millions enjoy high-quality digital television experiences. Additionally, K-NET plays a crucial role in the roll-out of DAB+, enhancing radio broadcasting with crystal-clear sound and data services.

Paving the way for rural connectivity

K-NET’s commitment to inclusivity is evident in its Rural Telephony initiative. Partnering with GIFEC, the company has deployed over 40 solar-powered telecom towers in underserved areas. These MRIID (Managed Rural IT Infrastructure Development) towers provide affordable co-location opportunities for telecom operators, bridging the digital divide and enabling rural communities to participate fully in the digital economy. This initiative not only improves connectivity but also supports local economies, health services, and education.

Harnessing renewable energy for sustainable solutions

Innovative and environmentally conscious, K-NET has integrated solar energy into its operations, launching ‘Energy as a Service’ (EaaS). This initiative powers numerous sites across Ghana and West Africa, offering corporate clients and operators a sustainable and cost-effective solution for their energy needs. By leveraging solar power, K-NET demonstrates its commitment to sustainability while ensuring reliable and resilient infrastructure for its partners.

    Reliable managed services for corporate

K-NET’s reputation for reliability is underscored by its provision of managed networking and communications solutions to a wide array of corporate clients. From banks to mining companies, K-NET’s services are trusted for their consistency and performance. During the recent undersea fibre outage, K-NET’s redundant cable systems ensured swift restoration of services for its clients, showcasing the company’s preparedness and dependability in critical situations.
