Showrunner, the Netflix of AI, launches its own creation platform

  • Showrunner is showcasing its own creation platform, allowing users to make their own TV shows with AI.
  • The company sees it as a platform for users to become TV content creators of their own.
  • Despite its strengths, Showrunner also has its own weaknesses. For instance, it is more suitable for episodic content rather than the epic 10-50 episode arcs of shows.

Showrunner, the Netflix of AI, presents its own creation platform, which makes it possible for its users to create their own TV series.

Main functions of Showrunner

Showrunner, by The Simulation (formerly Fable Studio), is now introducing its own creation platform. This platform enables users to produce their own TV shows using AI technology. By using the text-to-episode system, users can generate scenes and episodes of 2-16 minutes – all with AI dialogue, voice, editing, different shot types, consistent characters, and story development. The system also has a variety of styles, allowing users to create different styles of TV, from anime to Pixar-style. Ikiru Shinu and Shadows are two examples. “It’s the Netflix of AI,” said Edward Saatchi, founder and CEO of the company.

Significance of the launch

The company believes AI to be a radical disruption, prompting Hollywood to two-way entertainment: audiences watching a season of a show, loving it and then making new episodes with a few words, audiences putting themselves in shows. “Showrunner redefines what a TV show can be in that it lets a viewer watch a show, love it, and instantly become a creator of the next episode,” said the company’s co-creator Jacob Madden.

Room for improvement

Despite its strengths, Showrunner also has its own weaknesses. For instance, it is more suitable for episodic content rather than the epic 10-50 episode arcs of shows like “Breaking Bad” and “Game of Thrones”.
