OUR TAKE
From the arrival of Microsoft’s new generation of AI-equipped Windows 11 laptops to Apple’s latest iPad Pros, here are 10 of the best gadgets in the first half of year. In the second half of year, with efforts of Apple, OpenAI and other companies, more brilliant technology products will emerge.

What happened

TechRadar has released what it considers to be the 10 finest gadgets of 2024 so far. Here they are:

1. Samsung S95D OLED TV

Samsung S95D OLED TV is the next step in the evolution of the company’s QD-OLED display technology. The new flagship OLED is much brighter, which can be viewed in bright rooms without the impact of screen reflections that degrade picture quality.

2. Microsoft Surface Laptop 7

Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 has excellent performance and battery life. Its biggest selling point is that it works well with Copilot integrated AI, and Microsoft thinks the reboot is big enough to simply call it the “Surface laptop.”

3.  Cambridge Audio Melomania M100

Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 delivers beautifully detailed sound, much better noise cancellation than they should, ergonomic classic build and voice cues from Matt Berry of What We Do in the Shadows, Best wireless earplugs of the year so far.

4. Samsung HW-Q990D bar speaker

Samsung HW-Q990D carries on the legacy of its predecessor, adds sought-after gaming features with a 120Hz compatible HDMI 2.1 port. Not only is it the best way to enhance the moviegoing experience, but it’s also a great companion to music.

5. Apple iPad Pro (2024)

Apple’s iPad Pro (2024) is arguably Apple’s thinnest device ever, and iPad Pro is also unimaginably fast at 13 inches. It has the amazing tandem OLED display and all the upcoming software that Apple previewed at Worldwide Developers Conference 2024.

6. Oneplus Watch 2

OnePlus Watch 2 is the best smartwatch innovation of the year so far, with its clever use of dual operating systems, breaking a ceiling that no other Wear OS watch has been able to break so far. In smartwatch mode, the battery lasts up to 100 hours.

7. LG CineBeam Q projector

LG CineBeam Q stands out in the crowded world of portable projectors with its unique style, which comes in a striking aluminum case with a swivelable metal carrying handle/stand. It also has 4K resolution, which far surpasses other portable devices.

8.  Bose SoundLink Max

Bose stands out in terms of features and sound quality, offering USB-C charging, plus all the volume and low-end features you’d want at your next outdoor social event – but with its gorgeous look, sensitivity, and support for better-sounding aptX Adaptive codec.

9. Ray-ban smart glasses

Meta AI update released in April makes Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses the best AI wearable available, the equivalent of a pair of sunglasses with built-in chat capabilities. It allows glasses to take pictures that can provide some extra context for your queries.

10. Motorola Razr 2024

Motorola Razr 2024 and Razr Plus 2024, have a cool look and are durable, waterproof and have improved cameras. Motorola introduces a new hinge design this year that minimises the appearance of creases when the phone is fully unfolded.

Why it’s important

As a well-known technology website, TechRadar’s selection has a significant influence, often guiding consumers’ purchase decisions, and also reflecting the popularity of the latest products and technological advances in the technology industry.

In addition to the Samsung S95D OLED TV, TechRadar also selected several other notable products, including Microsoft Surface Laptop 7, Apple iPad Pro (2024), Ray-Ban Meta smart Glasses, and others, which demonstrate leading technology and design innovations in their respective fields.

This selection not only provides consumers with purchasing advice, but also promotes competition and innovation in the technology industry, encouraging manufacturers to introduce more advanced and more in line with market needs.
