Viva Bolivia picks VOX Solutions for A2P SMS security

  • Direct link, added protection: VOX-360 brings flash-call defences and SMS monetisation to Viva Bolivia’s network.
  • Regional twist: Exclusive firewall deals like this raise fresh concerns about fairness in Latin American messaging markets.

What happened: Viva Bolivia made VOX Solutions its exclusive international gateway

VOX Solutions, based in Hong Kong, now holds an exclusive direct link for all international A2P SMS and voice traffic heading into Viva Bolivia’s network. This step is meant to stop unsolicited or “grey-route” traffic and lift service quality. VOX-360 is the tool behind this.

It blocks flash-call fraud and helps Viva Bolivia turn A2P messaging into revenue. This fits with Viva’s goal to stay innovative.

Marcelo Hassenteufel, Corporate Affairs Director at Viva Bolivia, said adding VOX-360 shows their long-term focus on fraud prevention and customer value. VOX Solutions’ CEO, Ehsan Ahmadi, said the goal is to help operators like Viva grow revenue and protect communication.

Why it is important

This partnership gives Viva Bolivia strong defences against A2P fraud and may help users get safer, better messaging and calls. VOX-360’s flash-call authentication is one of few tools of its kind on the market.

There is also a wider industry trend. Exclusive “firewall” gateway deals like this are becoming more common in Latin America. They can limit competition and raise costs for local messaging firms. These agreements sometimes push up international A2P SMS rates dramatically and sideline smaller players.

These shifts may affect pricing and fairness in the Bolivian market and beyond. If Viva Bolivia’s consumers face higher message costs or aggregators struggle to compete, the impact could ripple across the region. At the same time, the deal may bring more secure and monetised messaging to customers.
