ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) Philippines has officially launched a new-generation data hall at its Makati facility, marking another significant step in the company’s ongoing expansion to meet the growing demand for data centre services in the country.
The newly upgraded Data Hall F—formerly known as the Globe MK2 Data Center—was unveiled following extensive renovations aimed at increasing both capacity and performance. STT GDC Philippines now offers an IT load capacity exceeding 5MW at the Makati site.

Expanding capacity to support digital growth

The launch event was attended by high-profile figures, including Makati City Mayor Abigail Binay and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John Uy. Mayor Binay underscored the importance of data centres in fostering economic growth, generating employment, and promoting smart city initiatives, while Secretary Uy noted the country’s growing prominence as a regional data hub.

Strengthening the Philippines’ digital future
Ernest Cu, Globe President and CEO, and a Board Director of STT GDC Philippines, praised the role of data centres in underpinning Globe’s digital services. He also reiterated the vision of turning the Philippines into a preferred location for hyperscalers in Southeast Asia, boosting the country’s digitalisation efforts and creating opportunities for the Filipino people.

In addition to the Makati facility, STT GDC Philippines is also progressing with the construction of its STT Fairview (to become the country’s largest data center once finished) and STT Cavite 2 data centres. The Fairview site, set to become the largest data centre in the country with a capacity of 124MW, is expected to begin operations in 2025. The Cavite 2 facility, located in General Trias, will provide an additional 6MW of IT capacity upon completion.
