  • Lumen partners with Google Cloud to optimize network operations with AI.
  • Lumen will employ AI-powered digital twins to detect network issues before they impact customers.
  • Recent partnerships for Lumen also include Meta, AWS, and Microsoft, enhancing its network with industry leaders.

_______________

What happened

Lumen Technologies has partnered with Google Cloud to boost network operations with AI, following collaborations with AWS, Microsoft, and Meta. Lumen will use Google Cloud’s AI tools, like the Vertex AI platform and Gemini models, to improve efficiency and customer service. This includes AI-powered digital twins to detect network issues before they affect customers, supporting Lumen’s proactive network management.

Google Cloud will also use Lumen’s Private Connectivity Fabric to enhance its network, essential for meeting the growing demand for AI services. As Google Cloud VP Bikash Koley said, “Lumen is a trusted network for AI, and we’re excited to partner with them to provide real-time insights”. This partnership marks a key step for both companies in leveraging AI for business transformation.

Why it’s important

The deal highlights a shift to AI-powered network operations, which could change how enterprises manage networks. With tools like Vertex AI and Gemini, Lumen aims to detect and fix issues early, crucial as digital and AI applications grow.

This partnership shows how companies are teaming up to deliver AI solutions. By using digital twins, technicians can test improvements before deploying them, boosting efficiency and reliability. For businesses and consumers, this means fewer outages, faster service, and a more resilient network.
