NANO OPT Media expands tech event services in Japan

  • NANO OPT Media organises dozens of live events annually — from cybersecurity expos to data‑AI and network‑technology fairs — serving as a face‑to‑face marketplace for tech vendors, professionals and researchers.
  • As a subsidiary of Internet Research Institute, Inc. (IRI), NANO OPT Media sits at the intersection of tech research and industry outreach, helping bridge innovation, networking and business development across Japan’s ICT sector.

NANO OPT Media’s mission and operations

Founded on 28 February 2000 and headquartered in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district, NANO OPT Media began with the intention of promoting science and technology through live‑event communication. The company is dedicated to creating “face‑to‑face marketplaces where people, technology and products/services get together to explore the possibility for the connected world.”

Over the years, it has become a mainstay event organiser for the Japanese technology industry. Its portfolio includes major recurring events such as Interop Tokyo — a flagship internet/ICT exhibition — along with specialised expos like Digital Signage Japan, APPS JAPAN and Vision AI Expo.

Beyond traditional trade shows, the company has adapted to new industry trends. For example, it offers a “multi‑studio” service for B2B webinars, live streams, and hybrid events — reflecting growing demand for flexible digital‑plus‑physical event formats.

NANO OPT Media operates as a subsidiary of IRI, which acquired it in 2015. This integration places the company at the junction of research, policy and commercial tech dissemination — enabling it to draw on IRI’s broader expertise while delivering practical platforms for networking and knowledge exchange.

Why NANO OPT Media matters in today’s tech industry

In an era where digital transformation, AI, cybersecurity and data‑driven business are evolving rapidly, industry conferences and expos serve a critical role. NANO OPT Media facilitates direct engagement among innovators, service providers, regulators and end‑users. Its events help spotlight cutting‑edge technologies and provide a forum for dialogue on key trends — from data privacy and security to network infrastructure and emerging AI applications.

Moreover, the hybridisation of events — combining in‑person exhibits with online components — reflects broader shifts in how the industry convenes. For companies and professionals, this model balances accessibility with depth, allowing broader participation without losing the value of face‑to‑face interaction.

At a time when securing cybersecurity, scaling IoT and AI usage, and deploying next‑generation networks are top priorities, NANO OPT Media’s role as facilitator and connector becomes ever more valuable. Its ability to adapt to new formats and deliver relevant industry gatherings helps Japan’s tech ecosystem stay connected, informed and competitive.
