Converged Telecoms: Delivering managed ICT services

Converged Telecoms (Pty) Ltd, trading under the name Converged Group, delivers integrated telecommunications and information technology services to the South African market. Established in 1999, the company has evolved into a multi-disciplinary provider offering fibre connectivity, cloud telephony, and managed network security solutions. It operates from its headquarters in Northriding, Johannesburg, with regional support based in KwaZulu-Natal.

The company builds carrier-neutral fibre infrastructure and provides managed bandwidth for enterprise clients. It partners with multiple last-mile providers and operates a private MPLS network, enabling clients to consolidate infrastructure and streamline connectivity. Its voice offerings include VoIP and hosted PBX systems, powered by Tier-1 Mitel technology.

Converged Telecoms has expanded its service portfolio to include business-grade Wi-Fi, managed firewalls, network monitoring, and cloud-based switching. Clients include businesses in retail, manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare, each supported by a dedicated service-level agreement. The company reports high customer retention, driven by its ability to manage both network design and ongoing operation.

Converged Telecoms: Responding to ICT market pressure

The South African ICT sector faces growing demand for scalable cloud communication platforms and secure, redundant fibre networks. Businesses seek to migrate from legacy voice systems and fragmented connectivity contracts to unified service platforms. Cost, vendor complexity, and last-mile delivery remain major challenges.

Converged Telecoms responds with end-to-end project control. It designs, deploys, and maintains enterprise ICT infrastructure, reducing downtime and simplifying vendor management. The company’s in-house voice engineers, network architects, and support technicians allow it to avoid outsourcing and improve response times.

Innovation focuses on convergence—merging voice, data, and security within a single service framework. This strategy positions the company as both telecom operator and managed services partner. Its fibre solutions support symmetrical speeds and guaranteed uptime, while its voice services integrate directly with CRM and call management platforms. The company maintains POPs across South Africa and connects to major peering exchanges. It publishes a transparent SLA framework and acceptable use policy to regulate service delivery and performance metrics.
