Eyewitness Savitri, a resident living in proximity to the plant, recounted hearing loud noises around 5:30 a.m., likening them to fireworks. Subsequently, she observed dense plumes of smoke rising from the facility until at least 10 a.m. Tata Electronics, a major contract manufacturer of iPhones in India alongside Foxconn, stated that it is currently investigating the cause of the fire and will implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of its employees and other stakeholders. A spokesperson for the company affirmed that emergency protocols were activated, ensuring the evacuation and safety of all 523 workers on duty when the fire broke out in the early hours of the morning.
