Q: What inspired NIO to venture into the EV market?

Q: How does NIO integrate AI and advanced technology into its vehicles to enhance the user experience?

In terms of AI, we are mainly reflected in the following points: NIO launched the Pilot Assistance Function (NOP), the first self-developed and mass-produced advanced driving assistance function in China. It is through the deep integration of navigation system, high-precision map and automatic driving assistance system. Also, NIO has developed NOMI, the world’s first in-car AI assistant, which is not only a voice assistant but also provides personalised services and leading intelligent experiences. Moreover, NIO launched the 4D comfortable navigation function, which is the first time in the industry to achieve AI technology plus intelligent chassis system. This function uses AI to sense the road conditions ahead and dynamically adjust the chassis to provide a more comfortable driving experience.

Q: Could you share more about the challenges and benefits you have encountered at NIO?

NIO’s power change technology is an innovative service model, which provides a different way of energy supply from traditional charging methods. The biggest challenge is the cost of infrastructure and battery compatibility, which requires significant upfront investment, including the cost of land and equipment. And as the technology is updated, the old converter station may not be able to support the new battery technology. The biggest benefit is time efficiency, usually changing the battery only takes a few minutes, reducing a lot of time. The user can also always maintain the full state of battery efficiency.

Q: What are the key factors driving NIO’s success in the highly competitive Chinese EV market?

As well as high-end brand positioning, NIO is positioned in the high market, competing with BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and other traditional luxury brands, and providing high-quality products and services to attract consumers.
