  • Google’s AI search summaries are expanding to over 100 additional countries this week. They are now available in supported languages including English, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.
  • Google has started to prominently display cited webpages within AI search summaries. Ads will now appear in AI search summaries in the United States, but in other countries, they will continue to appear in dedicated slots throughout the page.

What happened

Google’s AI search summaries are going global, launching in over 100 new countries this week. Now, no matter if you’re in Canada or South Africa, you’ll get speedy AI summaries in English, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Portuguese, or Spanish. So this expansion is all about making search easier and more helpful for everyone, regardless of where they are.

Before, these summaries were only available in select countries. But now, with this global push, more users will experience the convenience of AI tech. Google has already been testing this feature in places like the US, UK, and Brazil, and now it’s time for more countries to join in.In the US, you’ll start seeing ads in these summaries, but for everyone else, ads will stay in their usual spots on the search page. It’s all part of Google’s plan to make searching smarter and more useful for you.

Why it is important

Google’s AI search summaries are going global, and that means big news for people in over 100 countries who speak English, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. Now, no matter where you are, you’ll get quick and smart search summaries in your own language. This move helps everyone, especially those who don’t speak English, to use the internet better. It makes AI technology easier to access for everyone, no matter where they live. Plus, it helps Google searches make more sense for different cultures. All in all, it makes finding information faster and makes search engines better for everyone.

Google’s AI search summaries are more than just a handy tool for users—they’re also changing the tech world in a big way. By expanding, Google is encouraging other tech companies to step up their AI game, leading to more new ideas and inventions. Adding ads to these summaries in the US could mean more money for Google and might change how digital ads work overall. As Google shares these summaries worldwide, they’ll learn even more about what people search for, helping them make their services and AI smarter. This makes Google AI search summaries a key part of how we’ll find information in the future.
