    OUR TAKE
These AI-driven enhancements significantly elevate user convenience and efficiency in Chrome. What happened

Google has introduced three new AI-driven features for its Chrome browser, aiming to improve user experience and streamline common tasks. These enhancements are powered by Google’s latest generative artificial intelligence and Gemini models.

Firstly, an AI image search tool Google Lens, resembling a camera, will appear in the address bar of the Chrome browser. Users can initiate its use by clicking and dragging this icon onto any element within the current webpage they wish to search for. Alternatively, it can be activated via the three-dot menu accessed with a right-click. Upon selecting an item, visual matches will be displayed in a sidebar. This feature will be progressively released over the coming days.

Secondly, a new feature called Tab Compare will assist online shoppers by generating a summary of products across multiple open tabs, enabling easier comparisons. Lastly, Chrome’s history search has been enhanced with natural language support, enabling users to recall visited websites more intuitively.

    Why it’s important

These updates represent significant advancements in the integration of AI within web browsers. The addition of Google Lens directly into Chrome streamlines the image search process, making it faster and more convenient for users. The ability to refine searches with natural language questions opens up new possibilities for discovering information based on contextual understanding rather than specific keywords. Tab Compare is particularly useful for online shoppers, offering a comprehensive overview of products, prices, and reviews in one place, thus saving time and effort. Enhanced history search through natural language means that users can easily rediscover previously visited sites without needing to remember exact terms.

These features not only improve user convenience but also demonstrate the growing role of AI in enhancing everyday digital experiences.
