    What happened

Energix Renewables, a leading renewable energy company, has announced a significant milestone on Tuesday with the signing of a long-term agreement with Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet. This agreement entails the supply of electricity and renewable energy credits from Energix’s solar projects to support Google’s growing demand for sustainable energy.

Under the terms of the agreement, Energix will initially supply 1.5 gigawatt peak of solar project development to Google until 2030, with the potential for further expansion of the partnership in the future. Why it’s important

As technology companies like Google continue to expand their AI data centres, the need for reliable and renewable sources of electricity has become paramount. By partnering with energy providers such as Energix, Google aims to meet its energy requirements while prioritising sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint.

Energix Renewables is a company committed to developing and implementing renewable energy solutions, with a focus on solar energy projects that contribute to a sustainable future. The deal underscores the growing trend of major technology firms securing clean energy supply agreements, reflecting the increasing demand for renewable energy in powering data centres and other tech infrastructure.

This trend of major technology firms securing clean energy supply agreements not only highlights their commitment to sustainability but also drives the adoption of renewable energy sources on a larger scale. By partnering with renewable energy providers like Energix, companies like Google set a positive example for the industry, encouraging other corporations to prioritise clean energy solutions. This shift towards renewable energy has far-reaching implications, leading to reduced carbon emissions, improved environmental sustainability, and a more energy-efficient future for the tech industry and beyond.
