    • BlackBerry has introduced CylanceMDR Pro, an advanced managed detection and response service.
    • Available from July 31, 2024, this service optimises investments, strengthens security posture, and ensures seamless operation with a company’s existing security toolkit.

    OUR TAKE
Craig Robinson, research vice president of security services at IDC noted, “The cybersecurity landscape is complicated. Being able to quickly onboard and use what is already in place is a huge boon for any organisation – SMB to Enterprise — that needs to solve Its security problems fast. It’s hard to incorporate multiple offerings, but BlackBerry can make it simple with CylanceMDR Pro.”

    What happened

BlackBerry, a cybersecurity leader, has introduced CylanceMDR Pro, an advanced managed detection and response service. This AI-powered solution, built on an Open XDR platform, addresses the increasing complexities of modern cybersecurity by relieving the operational burdens on security teams.

Offering over 300 platform integrations, the service transforms data and applications into robust security sensors, detecting threats overlooked by traditional methods. By collecting telemetry from endpoints, networks, clouds, SaaS, identity systems, and email, it precisely identifies genuine attacks and rapidly mitigates risks.

Underlying the service is BlackBerry’s Cylance AI, a predictive artificial intelligence system proven superior in independent tests. It analyses telemetry, prioritises alerts, and prepares cases for immediate human response, actively preventing attacks before they escalate. CylanceMDR Pro complements existing security measures, optimising investments and strengthening security posture.

Available to BlackBerry customers from July 31, 2024, CylanceMDR Pro ensures harmonious operation with a company’s security toolkit, reducing costs and enhancing protective measures.

    Why it’s important

CylanceMDR Pro is tailored to meet the needs of expanding enterprises that seek to enhance their cybersecurity defenses promptly, without the necessity to overhaul their current security infrastructure or augment their security staff. The service’s XDR framework is designed to integrate smoothly with existing security technologies, delivering comprehensive visibility across the entirety of an organisation’s IT landscape without requiring the replacement of existing tools.

“Despite organisations making significant investments in personnel and technology, many haven’t seen a commensurate improvement in their risk envelope.  CylanceMDR Pro is a game-changer for organisations seeking confidence in their cybersecurity posture,” said Nathan Jenniges, Senior Vice President and General Manager, BlackBerry Cybersecurity. “It is a single platform solution, that is easy to deploy, ensuring that threat detection data is unified across endpoints, networks, cloud environments and beyond.”
