iBASIS, an international provider of communications solutions for operators and digital players, introduces the industry’s inaugural multi-carrier Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solution. Leveraging iBASIS’s GSMA standards-based eSIM technology, this offering revolutionizes FWA connectivity. Supported by the Simfony Connectivity Management Platform (CMP), the solution caters to enterprises’ need for seamless and efficient wireless broadband services.

According to GlobalData: US Fixed Communications Forecast, the US broadband services market is projected to grow significantly by 2028, with FWA expected to double its market share.

FWA is gaining popularity due to its speed and easy installation. However, traditional approaches rely on a single operator’s SIM card, assuming strong signal coverage at every address. When faced with coverage gaps or network failures, additional costly solutions are required.

iBASIS’s solution addresses the ‘one-size-fits-all’ limitations of traditional FWA offerings, providing higher flexibility and reliability by offering access to all major operator networks in the USA.

5G offers a number of significant improvements compared to previous mobile generations and those involved with IoT have been rightly intrigued to understand what capabilities might be used for connecting things other than phones, tablets, and PCs…. There is an increasingly rich opportunity associated with delivering high bandwidth 5G services as Fixed Wireless Access in support of, or in parallel with, IoT connectivity. The powerful capabilities provided by eSIM and remote SIM provisioning are also critical enablers, providing an enhanced user experience.
