    Baidu AI cloud unveils next-generation Qianfan platform

    In a bid to strengthen its foothold in the AI industry, Baidu AI Cloud has rolled out a substantial upgrade to its Qianfan platform. The latest update aims to democratise advanced AI technology, empowering businesses of all sizes to harness its capabilities more affordably and seamlessly than ever before.

    The pivotal feature of the upgrade is the introduction of five new ERNIE models, each designed with smaller footprints compared to traditional large language models (LLMs). This design not only reduces infrastructure costs for businesses but also ensures exceptional versatility across diverse applications, catering to specific business requirements.

    Diverse lineup of ERNIE models on Qianfan ModelBuilder platform

    The Qianfan ModelBuilder platform now offers a diverse range of ERNIE models, each catering to distinct use cases. From ERNIE Speed’s exceptional context comprehension to ERNIE Lite’s significant performance boost and cost reduction, and ERNIE Tiny’s focus on low latency and cost-effectiveness, businesses can choose the ideal model for their specific needs. Additionally, specialty models like ERNIE Character and ERNIE Functions further expand the platform’s capabilities.

    Enhanced Qianfan AppBuilder toolkit for seamless AI-native app dev

    Baidu AI Cloud has also enhanced the Qianfan AppBuilder toolkit, introducing 55 new tools tailored to streamline the development of AI-native applications. With a comprehensive suite of features, including core AI capabilities, proprietary technologies, and cutting-edge functionalities like Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and Generative Business Intelligence (GBI), businesses can leverage these tools to create innovative AI-driven applications.

    With the Qianfan platform already empowering 80,000 businesses, the recent surge in daily usage by an impressive 97% quarter-over-quarter since December 2023 underscores its growing adoption and impact as a powerhouse for AI model development.
