Apple has announced that beta spatial Persona support is coming to Apple Vision Pro. The feature expands on the existing Persona feature of Vision Pro but with an even more human-like experience.
Apple Vision Pro Personas
Spatial Personas allow Vision Pro users to “break out of the familiar FaceTime tile and feel more present like they are gathered in the same physical space.”
The spatial Personas feature was first shown off at WWDC 2023, but it wasn’t available until now. Apple explains that the feature brings a new way for Vision Pro users to connect. The feature allows you to move around, interact, collaborate, and make eye contact with other Vision Pro users to enjoy a shared virtual experience.
Whereas the feature was previously limited to chat platforms like FaceTime and Zoom, the new version is designed to bring an added sense of collaboration to the headset.
Vision Pro also supports spatial audio, which means that the audio of the character on the right sounds like it’s coming from the right. Working in this way may eventually make it feel like everyone is with you, even though they aren’t.
Currently, any app that supports SharePlay can work with spatial Personas but not every app will allow for single-screen collaboration. If you use window share or share the app, other personas will be able to see but not interact with your app window.

Multiple Vision Pro spatial Personas work on the same app
While your spatial Personas will appear in other people’s spaces during FaceTime calls, you’ll remain in control of your own viewing experience and still be able to move windows and characters around to suit your needs without messing up what people are seeing in the shared experience.
In the video example shared by Apple, two Personas flank a window showcasing Freeform. It’s like different people are in different places but sitting at the same desk at work.
In addition to work collaboration, this feature can also be used to watch films and play games together. It supports up to 5 users at a time.
