    • Apple is holding its Worldwide Developers Conference from June 10 to June 14 and is said to be in talks for an AI partnership.
    • The conference will focus on for the iPhone, the device and other Apple devices powered software updates.
    • The developer conference comes as sales of Apple’s iPhone remain weak, while Mac and iPad sales have declined due to a global decline in gadget sales.

    Worldwide Developers Conference

Apple said on Tuesday it will hold its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from June 10 to June 14, amid reports that the iPhone maker is in talks for an artificial intelligence partnership and could unveil major changes to iOS. The company said it will focus on updates to the software that powers iphones, ipads and other Apple devices. It added that some developers and students will be invited to Apple Park in person on opening day.

    Part of AI

Investors are closely watching for updates on Apple’s AI development, and so far the company has said little about integrating the technology into its devices. Earlier this year, the company lost its crown as the world’s most valuable company to Microsoft. Bloomberg News reported earlier this month that Apple plans to use AI technology such as Google’s Gemini as a chatbot in Apple’s operating system, while the iPhone maker’s own AI engine will handle more behind-the-scenes tasks throughout the new software.

Current situation and what to expect

The developer conference comes as sales of Apple’s iPhone remain weak, while Mac and iPad sales have declined due to a global decline in gadget sales. At last year’s event, Apple introduced the Vision Pro mixed reality headset, a new core processor, and a new computer. The company has plans to make the iPhone home screen more customisable in iOS 18, which some reports say could mark the biggest update to the iPhone operating system in years.
