The 2024 World Mobile Communications Conference (MWC) officially opened in Shanghai on June 26. Innovative concept products were showcased across venues from N1 to N5, each presenting its design ideas. This year’s conference theme, Future First, focuses on three sub-themes: Beyond 5G, AI Economy, and Digital Manufacturing, attracting thousands of communication enterprises, IT equipment manufacturers, and other related enterprises from around the world. Many large enterprises at the forefront of the product display area captured the majority of the audience’s attention. Following this, China’s three major telecom operators also competed to showcase their strengths. However, many Chinese startups displayed their unique styles as well.

1. NanoAR

NanoAR, founded in 2017, is located in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, is a wholesale business mainly engaged in Hd transparent projection display, AR (augmented reality) display and equipment for a variety of modern applications.

The photonic chip transparent screen developed by NanoAR was once displayed in the showroom of Audi 4S store, showing a dazzling sense of science and technology, and perfectly integrated with the concept of Audi scientific and technological innovation and enlightenment of the future.

The main features of the transparent screen include full transparency, ultra-high definition and full color, which can quickly attract consumers, improve the consumption experience and increase sales. Due to its fully transparent design, it can be flexibly placed and add multiple self-owned advertising Spaces that perfectly integrate with the environmental space.

At the NanoAR’s exhibition booth, the Shenzhen-based startup showcased their photonic smart cockpit transparent display system. The system is based on the photonic transparent chip display technology with completely independent intellectual property rights, which can transform car sunroofs, side Windows and partitions into transparent high-definition displays. It is suitable for in-car immersive entertainment, information display, communication and office scenes, making smart cars truly a third space. This technology is currently the world’s only transparent display technology for smart cars certified by vehicle regulations.

However, the startup faces some challenges. Photonic transparent display technology is still in the development stage, and its stability and reliability over long periods of use and various environmental conditions need to be further improved. Its application scenarios and practical uses still need to be explored and validated more widely, especially in real-world applications in commercial and consumer electronics products.
