What happened: Nvidia’s GTC 2025 innovations

At Nvidia’s GTC 2025 event, the company announced significant advancements in AI and networking technology. They introduced next-gen Blackwell Ultra chips, which enhance training and scaling inference capabilities. Two versions were unveiled: the GB300 NVL72, a rack-scale solution featuring 72 Blackwell Ultra GPUs and 36 Grace CPUs, and the HGX B300 NVL16, a high-performance server-class unit. These chips aim to improve AI reasoning capabilities and will be available through leading cloud providers and server manufacturers by late 2025.

Nvidia also plans to establish a quantum computing research center in Boston, which aims to drive quantum computing research forward. Additionally, the company showcased new photonics-based networking switches that connect millions of data center GPUs while significantly reducing energy consumption.
