    • Intel’s Xeon 6 CPUs selected for Nvidia’s DGX B300 AI system.
    • The collaboration aims to accelerate AI adoption across industries.

What happened: Intel Xeon 6 powers Nvidia DGX B300

On 22 May 2025, Intel unveiled its sixth-generation Xeon server processors. The lineup introduced three new models designed to boost AI server performance. Notably, one of these processors will power Nvidia’s latest DGX B300 AI system. This integration signals a stronger collaboration between the two tech giants.

The DGX B300 is powered by Nvidia’s Blackwell Ultra GPUs. It delivers major improvements in AI training and inference performance. Intel’s Xeon 6 CPUs, equipped with Priority Core Turbo technology, help manage workloads dynamically. This technology shifts tasks between high-priority and low-priority cores for maximum efficiency.

Karin Eibschitz Segal, Intel’s corporate vice president and interim general manager of the Data Center Group, welcomed the partnership. She emphasised that the collaboration aims to speed up AI adoption across industries. This joint effort reflects a growing trend in the AI sector.

    Why it is important

The integration of Intel’s Xeon 6 CPUs into Nvidia’s DGX B300 system marks a major milestone for Intel. It highlights the company’s strategic move to strengthen its presence in the competitive AI data centre market. With demand for AI-accelerated systems growing rapidly, this collaboration positions Intel to compete more effectively with rivals like AMD.

The DGX B300 system is built to handle the heavy workloads of generative AI. It delivers up to 144 petaFLOPS of inference performance, a significant leap. The inclusion of Intel’s Xeon 6 CPUs allows the system to manage AI tasks efficiently and helps maintain optimal system performance.

Furthermore, this partnership reflects a broader industry trend. More technology leaders are working together to develop cutting-edge AI infrastructure. By combining Intel’s CPU technologies with Nvidia’s powerful GPU advancements, the DGX B300 system offers enterprises a comprehensive and robust solution for AI deployment.
