Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan’s leading telecommunications operator, has partnered with Broadpeak to enhance its streaming service, Hami Video, through dynamic ad insertion technology. The collaboration involves integrating Broadpeak’s server-side ad insertion (SSAI) solution via the broadpeak.io SaaS platform to improve monetisation and viewer experiences.

Chunghwa Telecom serves over 3 million video streaming subscribers, offering a wide range of live and on-demand content, including international sports. The partnership aims to maximise ad revenue from live basketball matches and other premium sports content by leveraging Broadpeak’s advanced SSAI solution. This technology allows seamless ad integration into video streams, avoiding ad blockers and ensuring smooth playback transitions.

Broadpeak’s solution also includes AI-driven tools to automatically detect ad breaks and insert relevant SCTE-35 markers within video streams. The platform’s flexibility and ease of use enabled Chunghwa Telecom to deploy the service rapidly, with the ability to go live within weeks. Additionally, the cloud-based solution supports effortless third-party integration via API-driven architecture, ensuring seamless interoperability with existing CDN and ad-tech environments.
