What happened: Aduna and Sinch partner to boost global network API ecosystem

Aduna, a joint venture between Ericsson and leading global telecom operators, has announced a strategic partnership with Sinch, a major cloud communications provider. The collaboration aims to expand the global network API ecosystem, making it easier for developers to access advanced mobile network capabilities through a unified platform.

This partnership will enhance the reach and effectiveness of network services, particularly in areas such as voice, video, and verification services. Aduna was launched in September 2024 with the goal of streamlining global access to network APIs, enabling new applications to work seamlessly across any network.

By partnering with Sinch, Aduna will leverage Sinch’s expertise in security and customer onboarding to expand services like the Verification API and SIM Swap API. This move is expected to drive innovation in digital services and accelerate the adoption of network APIs globally.

Why it’s important

This partnership is a significant step forward in the development and adoption of network APIs. By combining Aduna’s platform with Sinch’s communication capabilities, businesses will be able to integrate advanced network features into their digital services more easily.

Besides, this collaboration will enhance security, streamline critical services like two-factor authentication, and support seamless, secure digital customer communications across industries. It also aligns with broader industry efforts to standardize network APIs, driven by initiatives like CAMARA, which is supported by the GSMA and the Linux Foundation.
