Andrea Carcano is the co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Nozomi Networks, and is an expert and international leader in industrial network security, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. In 2013, he co-founded Nozomi Networks with Moreno Carullo, aiming to provide next-generation network security and operational visibility solutions for industrial control networks. 

Moreno Carullo is another co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, responsible for the technical aspects of Nozomi Networks’ industrial control network security solutions. He holds a Ph.D. in artificial intelligence and has extensive experience in system engineering and software development. Moreno, along with co-founder Andrea Carcano, has created the most effective asset discovery and threat detection methods for OT networks.

These augmented data sets are utilised for enhanced analysis and organisation of network threat activities, without imposing any additional load or interrupting critical network operations.

Financing

Nozomi Networks has currently raised $100 million in funding, which will be used to expand product development and scale its sales and marketing operations. The Series D funding round was led by private equity firm Triangle Peak Partners. Other supporting partners include Forward Investments, Honeywell Ventures, In-Q-Tel, Keysight Technologies, Porsche Ventures, and Telefónica Ventures. Previous supporters of Nozomi also contributed to this round of funding.

According to GlobalData’s transaction database, Nozomi Networks had previously raised $42.5 million in funding, with the most recent being a $30 million Series C funding round in September 2018.With ransomware attacks becoming increasingly prevalent in the private sector, companies like Nozomi Networks have the opportunity to strengthen network security, particularly in industrial applications.
